MORE FOOD FOR THOUGHT

I'll just post these scriptures for now & finish later. Amen.

GALATIANS 3:29 & 4:1 KJV  : "... If ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. [But] the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;"

1 PETER 2:2 KJV : "As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:"

EPHESIANS 3:19 KJV : "And...know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God."

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

GOD'S got a plan!  But so does satan!

"Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well:

the devils also believe and tremble." [JAMES 2:19 KJV]

GRACE UNDER PRESSURE (FIRE)

Today we'll journey through several far-flung, yet parallel main scripture passages; the true crux of the message, the familiar JOHN 3:16, finally culminating in a WORD for today's world-weary souls. The unifying theme being: Look & Live!

NUMBERS 21:4-9 KJV: "And they journeyed from mount Hor by the way of the Red sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way. And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread. And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived."

JOHN 3:14-17KJV: "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."

1 PETER 4:12&13 KJV: "Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy."

So what are we to do in response to satan's staccato onslaught, the cares of this world and all who would steal our joy? Just keep "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." [HEBREWS 12:2 KJV]  "Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:" [EPHESIANS 6:16&17 KJV ]

 See 1 THESSALONIANS 5:16-19 KJV:

  • "Rejoice evermore."
  • "Pray without ceasing."
  • "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."
  • "Quench not the Spirit."

& ROMANS 12:20 KJV:

  • "Therefore if thine enemy hunger , feed him; if he thirst , give him drink : for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head."

I edited my guestbook intro today, including the following two scriptures. I thought they better represented, and reminded me of, the "expected end" [See JEREMIAH 29:11 KJV .] of my "FIX" Xanga Community outreach.

1 JOHN 1:4 KJV: "And these things write [I] unto you, that your joy may be full."

PSALMS 112:7 KJV: "He [whosoever believeth] shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed , trusting in the LORD."

I also added PSALM 118:14 KJV,"The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation." to my profile. FYI: I actually write songs and poetry. You can veiw them @ http://poetrypoem.com/godisnowhere.  Be blessed!

HOPE

Merrian-Websters defines HOPE as "1: to desire with expectation of obtainment 2: to expect with confidence :TRUST." This is the confidence that we should have in GOD. Amen.

PSALMS 33:18 &22 KJV: "Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy; Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee."

JESUS said, in MATTHEW 9:29B KJV, " According to your faith be it unto you." and in JOHN20:29B KJV, "[more] blessed are they that have not seen , and yet have believed." This is why HEBREWS 11:1 KJV boldly proclaims, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for , the evidence of things not seen ." Indeed, the 11th chapter provides a litany of faith-filled examples! "So that we may boldly say , The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me." [HEBREWS 13:6 KJV]  What more could we hope for? Seriously, I'm asking, In faith believing, should we not have great expectations! Amen.
